About
The future of property lies not just in what we build, but in how we choose to revive and reuse what we already have. By reimagining what already exists, we can help shape a built environment that is smarter, more sustainable and richer in identity.
Denstone Property is an independent, Manchester-based Development Management Consultancy specialising in the re-use, refurbishment and redevelopment of existing buildings. Our ethos is founded on four principles: Sustainability, Viability, Character and Innovation.

Andrew Whittaker MRICS
Founder & Development Director
Andrew is a Chartered Surveyor and Development Director with over fifteen years of experience spanning the full property development lifecycle. He has held senior positions in both consultancy and with two North West centred property developers, most recently as Development Director working across Manchester's St. Johns Estate Masterplan.
He founded Denstone Property in December 2024 with a clear purpose: to bring senior-level development expertise to the re-use and refurbishment of existing buildings, delivering projects that are commercially robust, sustainably minded and rich in character.

Sustainability
Re-using existing buildings is one of the most effective ways to reduce environmental impact.
Each structure already holds significant embodied carbon and material value, demolishing and rebuilding releases those emissions again, while re-use dramatically lowers waste and carbon footprint.
Refurbishment is less resource-intensive than new construction, conserving raw materials and minimizing waste.
By keeping buildings and materials in use for longer, we support the principles of a circular economy, creating places that are not only sustainable but built to endure.

Viability
Re-using existing buildings isn’t just sustainable, it’s smart business.
Working with what already exists is often far more cost-effective than starting from scratch, making better use of time, materials, and capital.
With much of the infrastructure already in place, projects can be delivered more quickly and efficiently.
Upgrading or repurposing existing assets enhances their performance and extends their lifespan, generating stronger long-term returns.

Character
Authenticity matters and older buildings carry the stories, craftsmanship, and identity that make places unique.
By reusing and refurbishing rather than replacing, we help maintain the cultural fabric of towns and cities, creating continuity between past and present.
These characterful spaces foster pride and connection, resonating more deeply with communities than entirely new developments.
We believe that preserving character isn’t about looking back, it’s about giving heritage a meaningful future.

Innovation
Adaptive re-use demands creativity, finding new ways to make existing spaces meet the needs of today and tomorrow.
By blending the old with the new, we uncover fresh architectural and engineering solutions that celebrate a building’s history and meet modern performance standards.
Working within existing constraints challenges us to think differently, driving design excellence and inspiring more resourceful outcomes.
